For long trips these are my go to. They provide the support I need plus the comfort to ride long days. The drystar waterproofing also works pretty well. Great boots.
Tech7 boots fresh of the NorcalBDR
For shorter or technical rides I rock these boots. The build quality is amazing and the amount of control you have is top notch. You don’t feel like you’re wearing clown shoes with these boots. Not cheap, but I got mine used and I probably won’t have to buy another pair again since you can replace all the parts on them. They take some time to break in but if you can get past that break in period you’ll be golden. If you have a plate on your ankle like I do, you’ll have to wear thicker socks or consider another option, they do start to bug me after an hour or two, but I only notice when I’m not on the trails.

After breaking my ankle I take injuries very serious, so now I use these bad boys. I started out with mediocre alpinestar knee guards, but they kept rubbing my knees raw and after a lot of research I ended up with these high end braces. They are very comfortable, easy to use and have excellent ratings from actual professionals. Thankfully I haven’t had to test them out, but the comfort alone is worth the price.

Protect your head. If your brain is toast it won’t matter how many motorcycles you have. I’m on the fence with this helmet. At first the fit was great, but after a season of riding I started getting hot spots, the visor is also a bit weird. The bend on the visor takes some time to get used to. I have a small stigmatism so my eyes focus on whatever is closest and the bend was throwing me off for a while. It has excellent safety ratings and overall it has been a good helmet but I will probably buy a Krios next. Helmets are like shoes, everyone has their own preference for fit and style. Don’t go cheap on this one.

Protect your head. If you break your head sending it, you’ll probably never send it again. I bought this helmet when I got my first dirt bike, it has the MIPS system and quick release pads. This is still my dirtbike helmet but I have also used this on long trips like the BDRs. Great helmet, no issues.

Protect your hands, you need them to ride. Like everyone who rides or works on projects, I have a ton of gloves, most of them are cheap and work well enough, but these are my favorite. I noticed that overtime my hands would start to cramp and it wasn’t the clutching or breaking, it was the actual gloves that were the cause of this issue. For the sake of comfort I sacrificed control and added muscle fatigue. I no longer use bulky gloves and instead use gloves with the most flexibility and protection for the type of riding I’ll be doing. If you pair light gloves with heated grips you’ll be better off than big bulky gloves, even if your hands get wet. 100% makes great stuff but for my hands and my style of riding, these are my go to for off-road.
